Tangled

This is the original movie soundtrack to the next Walt Disney Pictures hit Tangled, in cinemas 6^th January 2011. The movie is reported to be one of the most hilarious and hair-raising tales ever told. I think this is a really big call but it may just be right on the money, I know it’s a movie I would really like to check out for myself.

Including the voice talents of Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider and Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel the Tangled soundtrack gives quite an insight to the movie. There are 5 feature songs that are sung within the movie so you really are getting sections of the action in the movie and I think it’s going to be a very fun movie.

The original score is by famed Academy Award winning composer Alan Menken with lyrics by Tony and Grammy nominee Glenn Slater. Something That I Want, the end credit song, is written and performed by Grace Potter.

The first 10 songs give an insight into the action in the movie as the lyrics tell us a bit about what’s going on in the movie, not enough to piece it all together though. The second half of the soundtrack is score. Beautiful music that really gets in your head and creates pictures all on its own, I keep seeing the music notes from Fantasia skipping around my head.

I am really looking forward to trying out this CD on Miss 7, I think it’s going to be a big hit with her and will have us heading out to see the movie next month. I am intrigued to see the pictures that go with this music.
