The Presets

The Presets have recently released the first single from their new album. A techno track thumping with bass and accompanied by a pixilated technicolour roller coaster ride of a video created and directed by New York based visual artist Yoshi Sodeoka.

Youth In Trouble is the first new track from The Presets in 4 years, and our first taste of the new album, Pacifica, released September 14 on Modular Recordings. Youth In Trouble remixes by Green Velvet, Alex Metric and The Finger Prince & Light Year will also be released by The Presets and available to purchase through iTunes.

There will also be a Limited Edition Deluxe version of Pacifica, housed in a 12″ case with a lenticular cover, containing three formats of the album (CD, vinyl and MP3 download), a hard cover book with expanded artwork and a limited edition lithograph that is numbered and signed by the band. There will only the 1,500 Limited Edition Deluxe versions released worldwide.

You can pre-order Pacifica from iTunes and receive Youth In Trouble instantly, you can also pre-order from JB HiFi and receive a signed copy in a limited-run lenticular sleeve. The first 1000 pre-orders also get a special edition Presets iPhone cover.

Pacifica is a ten track album heavy on synth that takes The Presets into new territory. It encapsulates a range of energy and emotion from light to shady. Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes are The Presets and it was they who produced the album which was mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer.

The Presets last offering was Apocalypso, which exceeded Triple Platinum sales and hosted five hit singles. My People stayed in the ARIA charts for over 75 weeks, the longest charting Australian single in ARIA chart history. The 2008 ARIA Awards saw The Presets take home six ARIA and ARIA artisan awards, including Album of The Year and The Presets were the first electronic band to do so, Apocalypso also received Triple J’s ‘J Award’ for Album of The Year.

They played to over 70,000 people on their last national tour which included Sydney’s Hordern Pavilions for three consecutive shows and three Melbourne Festival Halls.

And now they are proudly playing Parklife 2012 festivals across the country.
