Darren Hayes has just released his 4th studio album and it is a celebration of pop. Secret Codes and Battle Ships is already being heralded as a return to form for Hayes after hearing very little from him over the past four years.
To celebrate the release of the album and premiere the track Bloodstained Heart Darren Hayes will be performing on the Australian series of the X Factor on Tuesday October 25th.
Darren Hayes co-wrote all of the songs on this album with quite a list of well known and extremely popular writers and producers who have brought us hits from the likes of Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis.
This album is filled with pop hits that will hook you. The tunes are catchy, the lyrics are sometimes deeper than others and the sound is all Hayes. The album features live orchestras that were recorded in Sydney and Stockholm that give the tracks new depths and sets him apart from a lot of the other current pop offerings.
I think fans of Darren Hayes, and fans of Savage Garden are going to really enjoy this album. I am not really a fan of either but have heard stand out songs that I love from both and I really quite like this album. Some of the tracks are quite touching with lyrics that send an important message, there are some poppy and still quite light tracks about a broken heart. A quite well rounded album that has something to offer for different tastes.

I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years, I have broadened my horizons considerably. In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews. Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS!
