Ladies of Jazz Concert

A love of jazz music and the opportunity to pay homage to legendary Greats has brought together three of Australia’s most celebrated female artists. Christine Anu, Grace Knight and Paulini come together to form Ladies of Jazz, and here they have the ability to showcase their soul and their class in every note; creating an atmosphere where the glamour and intrigue are almost palpable.

There are two major drawcards to the Ladies of Jazz show! On one stage there is the inspiring celebration of music that spans the last eighty years, from the 30’s and 40’s right through to now. Performing songs that were made famous and have stood the test of time by iconic singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Etta James and Dinah Washington; singers that continue to be listed as one of the major influences of artists in the current generation.

The second stage showcases three gorgeous, talented and celebrated artists with incredible voices. Artists who have travelled their own paths through the Australian music industry demonstrating their dedication with years of hard work.

Christine Anu is one of Australia’s most popular recording artists and her career credits include music, dance, theatre, film, television and  children’s entertainment.  Her career spans over two decades and has seen her gather sell-out musicals, platinum albums, Hollywood blockbusters and collaborations with such big names as Baz Luhrmann of Moulin Rouge acclaim, Paul Kelly and David Atkins. I could go on and on because Christine Anu has quite a list of career achievements so suffice it to say she is one extremely talented, multi talented performing artist who is sure to impress!

Grace Knight rose to stardom as the soulful singer of the award winning Eurogliders who performed live to 65 million viewers on MTV’s New Year’s Eve show which launched the band in the US, UK and Japan. Grace Knight also acted in Come In Spinner on the ABC and has released multiple award winning jazz albums. Grace was the only artist in Australian musical history to have two albums in the top 5 in the same week. Grace has performed for such inspirational people as Bill and Hilary Clinton, The King of h, current and former Prime Ministers of Australia and Diana – Princess of Wales.

Paulini has become a household name via her television work and she has been nominated for multiple ARIA awards, winning two, and two Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. She toured Australia with the Young Divas and as support for Guy Sebastian, Human Nature and Tina Arena. At the moment Paulini is working on her third solo release which I’m sure will be fabulous.

These three multi talented Aussie artists form Ladies of Jazz which is sure to be a show not to be missed!
