Deep Purple and Journey Australian Tour

Chugg Entertainment have recently announced the exciting details of a rock n’ roll tour for early 2013 that will get your heart pumping. Not one but two legendary rock n’ roll bands sharing the bill – rock fans of all ages are going to want to be in this audience.

Deep Purple formed in 1968 and have released iconic hits including Black Night, Smoke On The Water, Hush, Perfect Strangers, Knocking At Your Backdoor and Space Truckin’. Smoke On The Water is a hit well known by music lovers of all ages from all over the world and this year it celebrates its 40th anniversary.

With a career spanning so many decades and having amassed so many ‘classic’ songs the setlist would be a hotly debated subject with fans, and a difficult aspect of the tour for the band to finalise as well I would imagine because, much as you might like to, you just can’t play everything.

DEEP PURPLE

2013 is going to be a huge year for Deep Purple! They have been nominated for the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they will be performing the Australia/New Zealand tour and … February 2013 will see the release of a Deep Purple album of brand new material.

The part of this I find it the most difficult to comprehend is that this will be Deep Purple’s first tour of Australia and New Zealand – in over 40 years and this will be their first Australia/New Zealand tour. That tells me that these tickets will go ultra quick with fans of all generations vying for a chance to be in the audience.

Deep Purple won’t be traveling alone, they are bringing San Franciscan rockers Journey along.

Journey is among the most popular American rock bands of all time, famous for creating songs like Anyway You Want It, Faithfully, Open Arms and the extremely well known and soundtrack friendly Don’t Stop Believin’. Their Greatest Hits album went Platinum 15 times and since their inception in 1973 Journey has celebrated 19 Top 40 singles as well as 25 Gold and Platinum albums in the US.

The 2011 Billboard Touring Awards saw Journey awarded the impressive ‘Legend of Live Award’ for their commitment to the fans and art of performing live. Their 2011 Eclipse World Tour drew almost a million fans and was ranked in the Top 15 Tours of the year.

Deep Purple and Journey are two legendary rock acts that have stood the test of time and created the musical soundtrack of so many people’s adventure from childhood into adulthood, their songs have been their on the good days and through the heartbreak and there are going to be fans of all ages itching to relive some of those memories as well as basking in the new material.

Tickets to all shows go on sale at 9am (local time) on Monday, 12 November 2012.
