It seems that everywhere I turn there are ads for brand new TV shows and Channel 9 have their fair share of interesting viewing coming up.
The latest offering soon to grace our screens is Episodes, bringing Friends favourite Matt LeBlanc back to our living rooms on a weekly basis, and this time he’s playing himself.
In the lead up to his role on Friends Matt Le Blanc played some minor TV roles but he will always be best known as Joey Tribbiani on Friends and the short-lived spin off series Joey.
We haven’t seen a lot of Matt LeBlanc in recent years which is probably why I feel he will always be Joey to me – fortunately Episodes isn’t going to try and change that because he will be playing himself.
Episodes hasn’t made it to our screens yet but I think it’s interesting to note that Matt LeBlanc was nominated for the 2011 Outstanding Lead Actor (comedy) Emmy for his role and won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Musical or Comedy, the show was also nominated for a Best Comedy Series Golden Globe.
Episodes follows a happily married British couple, writer-producers Beverly and Sean Lincoln played by Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan, whose hit TV series is spotted by a Hollywood network executive certain that this could be successfully made into an American hit. The wheels start turning and the Lincolns pack up and head to Hollywood where their show is fast transformed. The original star is replaced by Friends star Matt LeBlanc and the Lincolns find that Hollywood is not what they were expecting.
There are some other familiar faces here to grab your attention, and some that may take a while to work out where you’ve seen them before. Episodes comes to Australian screens very soon.
Will you be watching Episodes?
My blurb went missing… so now I have to bring you a new one. One that is a little broader too.
I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years I have broadened my horizons considerably.
I inhale music, hair metal that satisfies my inner bogan is where my musical passion lies, but again I’ve been exposed to lots of different music I wouldn’t normally listen to and have broadened those horizons also.
In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews.
Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS! Reading, writing, speaking, listening – if it’s got words I’m there!
