Brightly are back and on the 26th of May they will be launching their new single Sarah with the support of Lift Off and Nearly Oratorio at The Empress Hotel.
It wasn’t long ago I was here helping you get to know Charlie Gleason and Nic Lam, the duo that make up Brightly. I was also here to share a little about the last double-A side single We Were In Tokyo and The We Woke Up. And now here I am to talk up the upcoming release Sarah.
Sarah continues with the recognisable Brightly sound of electronica beautifully combined with dreamy pop and this is how the song has been described:
Inspired by Hotel Max (before closing down) on Melbourne’s Commercial Road, Charlie says “the song is about a period of time when my friends and I would sit in bars, getting drunk and rambling about past relationships. Sarah is a metaphor for the shared experience of being ready to fall in love, but not being sure who with.”
The Brightly live show is a riotous event, making the most of the varied instrumental backgrounds of both Charlie and Nic, as well as their talented musical friends. The Brightly love of glitter and boisterous enthusiasm guarantee that The Empress Hotel single launch on the 26th is going to be a night to remember.
Sarah is going to be available on the 26th of May

iTunes and Bandcamp
Vinyl at:

I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years, I have broadened my horizons considerably. In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews. Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS!
