Xavier Rudd is a well known voice in Australia with six studio albums already in his back catalogue. He has just announced the SPIRIT BIRD Australian Tour which will be presented by Triple J, SPA and No Dice, it will be his most extensive tour to date.
The seventh studio album will be released early in June and the Spirit Bird tour is it’s release celebration. The tour will cover 28 dates in cities and regional centres across the country. From Adelaide to Yallingup, from Rockhampton to Albany there is sure to be a show near you.
Spirit Bird contains his highest selling single to date, the lead single Follow The Sun which is a beautiful track showcasing Rudd’s very distinctive voice and interesting choice of instrumentation. This album sees the socially-conscious Rudd explore new depths as well as his musical and spiritual ancestry.
Spirit Bird contains a selection of guitars, yidakis (didgeridoos), stomp box and percussion, not to mention animal sounds, and in this way Rudd is bringing Australians back to the sounds this land has known since before its colonisation and introducing the rest of the world to a new sound.
Xavier Rudd has taken this sound to all corners of the world, released six studio albums, two live albums, collected a global fan base and received multiple ARIA nominations in the space of a decade.
This tour will showcase Xavier Rudd performing at his best and includes a stage show accompanied by a carefully selected collection of images and videos that highlight the environmental themes of the album.
The Spirit Bird album is available from June 8 and can be pre-ordered HERE

I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years, I have broadened my horizons considerably. In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews. Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS!
