Carrie Underwood is a star with a super set of stats under her belt – and I’m not talking about her legs either, but they did see her named The Sexiest Legs in Hollywood in 2010 by Victoria’s Secret. No, I’m talking about the 5 Grammy’s, 14 US #1 hits and the 14 million albums she’s sold.
And 2012 sees her leave North America on tour for the first time… In even better news that tour has been confirmed to include Australia!
The tour is being sponsored by Olay and will see Carrie Underwood play four intimate and exclusive Australian shows closing out the leg at the Sydney Opera House on Monday July 2. The Opera House is iconic but in terms of a country superstar here on tour then Tamworth, the home of country, is a must play city on this highly anticipated tour.
Chugg Entertainment worked hard to ensure that the Tamworth show was held on a weekend and fortunately it has also coincided with the start of school holidays.
Tuesday June 26 will see the tour kick off with a show at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre followed by TRECC in Tamworth on Friday June 29, Brisbane Convention Centre on Saturday June 30 and the big finale at the Sydney Opera House on Monday July 2.
This tour will also see Underwood play the Royal Albert Hall in London where tickets sold out in 90 minutes and Chugg anticipates that Australian fans will be just as quick so if you want to see this concert then you have got to get in quick.
There will be a fan pre-sale from Wednesday the 9th to Thursday the 10th and general public tickets go on sale Monday May 14th.
“Touring is more fun now because I know what it’s like to headline a tour,” said a clearly modest Underwood, whose 2008 and 2010 North American headline tours (200-plus shows to 2.2millions fans) clocked her as the Top-Selling Country Female Touring Artist Of The Year on each occasion.
“I feel like I’m able to be more and more creative all the time.
“I always feel like I’m taking steps forward.”
This tour comes on the back of her 4th album released in Australia last week called Blown Away and by all accounts that is exactly what she will do to audiences.
