Bank of Melbourne recently announced the return of Melbourne Music Bank, a fabulous opportunity for local musicians to break into the industry. Melbourne Music Bank is a community driven initiative created by the Bank of Melbourne in partnership with Melbourne Recital Centre, Beat Magazine, PBS, and Wilk.
All Victorian songwriters and musicians are encouraged to enter Melbourne Music Bank for the chance to win a career changing prize.
Artists have until September 7, 2014 to submit an original Melbourne inspired piece of music. Twelve finalists will be shortlisted and this will be narrowed by a public vote to the final four. Finalists will then perform live at the Melbourne Recital Centre where a panel of music experts will decide the winner.
2014 marks the second straight year of the Melbourne Music Bank and with the prize on offer I’m sure Victorian musicians are hoping it’s far from the last.
The prize for the winner of the Melbourne Music Bank includes two days of recording at Sing Sing Studios, a video clip by film maker Wilk, live gigs, album artwork and 500 CDs, PR and marketing advice and the chance to have their song used in a Bank of Melbourne advertising campaign. This is some serious swag, sure to impress Victorian musicians and make a difference to the career of the winner.
Melbourne Music Bank ambassador Ella Hooper says this prize could change the life of a talented local band or musician.
Ella Hooper was a perfect choice for ambassador after the Killing Heidi frontwoman was discovered at a local fete in Violet Town.
If you live in Victoria and have a melodious Melbourne mantra I urge you to enter the Melbourne Music Bank for your shot at the big time.
