Love Like Hate are a Brisbane duo that describe themselves as dark pop and have just released their debut EP ‘Rabbit Hole’, alongside the EP release is the release of the first single – ’21’.
’21’ is accompanied by a beautifully shot video filmed out past Jimboomba, Brisbane and set in Heather’s 1970 Ford Cortina. The video was directed by the Contortionist Studio crew and made its RAGE debut on July 21st.
You can check out the video for 21 here:
Love Like Hate brings together two entirely different musicians employing very different writing styles that complement each other beautifully. Love Like Hate are Heather Cheketri on vocals and guitar and Sonja Ter Horst on the piano.
Love Like Hate blends some beautiful music to create a sound that is quite unique. Their lyrics make for honest, emotional and instinctive rock combined with hints of early post punk, delicate piano swings, free-form arrangements and melodies that carry you away.
21 is a song about growing up carried by hauntingly dark undertones beautifully complemented by upbeat music, a song that focuses on 21 as a magic age – which is something I totally agreed with for a long time.
A love of epic ballads brought Love Like Hate and Lachlan Mitchel together to record the five track EP Rabbit Hole and you can get your ears on it via bandcamp: http://lovelikehate.bandcamp.com/album/rabbit-hole
