Il Volo are three Italian teenaged tenors gearing up to take Australia by storm when their self-titled debut album is released on 5th August.
The album was released in Italy in November 2010 where it debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard chart and has already been certified platinum.
Universal Music Group released Il Volo’s self-titled album which was platinum in less than three months; the really interesting thing about that is the fact that platinum was achieved with no radio or video airplay, no single sales and only a few television performances. They became the first Italian artists to sign with Geffen Records in the United States.
Il Volo is a testament to the vocal talent of 17 yr old Piero Barone, 16 yr old Ignazio Boschetto and 16yr old Gianluca Ginoble who perform new and traditional pop songs which are classically influenced. They embody a vocal talent that is undeniable and is sure to blow you away, regardless of the language it’s recorded in.
This teen trio need to be seen to be believed, and a perfect example of that is their sensational performance of “O Sole Mio” on American Idol – after which the Il Volo album rocketed immediately to #2 on the itunes chart.
Il Volo was recorded in London’s well known Abbey Road Studios, Los Angeles and Rome. It was produced by Humberto Gatica who has worked with Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli and the world renowned Italian singer/producer Tony Renis. Il Vlo was executive produced by the Geffen Records Chariman himself, Ron Fair.
All of these world class, renowned elements combined with the breathtaking talent of this trio of teen tenors points undeniably to a world class album that is sure to sweep across our shores like a tidal wave on its release this August.
Be sure to make the most of the opportunity to catch Il Volo showcasing their immense talent when they bring their amazing voices to visit Australia to promote their debut album from August 10th-12th.
