Channel Ten’s new drama Wonderland premieres Wednesday August 21 at 8.30pm.
Smith & Western are a Sydney collective involved in the show by having created the theme song. Smith & Western are made up of some of Australia’s finest songwriters including Ant Smith (Salmonella Dub), Nick West (Shades of Gray), Dan Higson (Matt Bianco) and Amanda Brown (The Go-Betweens). The vocals are provided by up and coming singer/songwriter Mike Paxton, who was found by the collective after they scoured social media and music sites to tap into a world of unknown, and amazing, musicians to find the voice that was just right.
“It was a really fun process to write with so many great people and we’re really stoked at how the song came about through such a collaborative and creative process,” said Nick West. “(Come On) Come Inside is about capturing the inviting sound of life in coastal Australia. Wonderland really recreates that essence too, so it was a perfect marriage for the song.”
(Come On) Come Inside has just been released to radio and is set to make airwaves on Australian radio, as have so many other great tracks featuring on TV – think of I’m Yours by Jason Mraz and the iconic I’ll Be There For You by The Rembrandts.
Wonderland premieres on Channel Ten at 8.30pm Wednesday August 21. In the meantime you can get your hands on the theme song from the Wonderland Facebook page – www.facebook.com/WonderlandTen.
You can also get the song from iTunes.
I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years, I have broadened my horizons considerably. In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews. Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS!
